1. Choose a sport and a manageable format
For NFL or college football, start with straight-up winners if your group wants a familiar format. Choose against the spread if everyone understands covering a line. For Premier League, use home win, draw or away win.
Equal scoring is easy to explain. Confidence scoring adds a second decision: how strongly do you back each pick? Begin with a pick count your group can comfortably submit every week.
2. Publish the rules before the first kickoff
Write a short group-chat message with the sport, required picks, scoring method and season scoring. Include whether a Game of the Week changes the points and which tiebreaker you chose.
For spread leagues, explain when lines freeze and that a submission does not reserve the line shown at that moment. Tell players whether others can see picks immediately or must wait for your reveal rule.
- League timezone and the weekly deadline.
- How Thursday, Friday or midweek games lock.
- Required picks and confidence-weight rules, if used.
- Season standings, tiebreakers and any dropped-week setting.
3. Create the league and invite the group
Create your Suite account, name the league and choose its settings. Share the invitation link privately with the people you want to join. They use their own accounts to submit picks.
Suite Free includes one active league and up to 25 players. Standard supports three active leagues and Pro has no active league count limit; both support up to 100 players per league. Created and joined active memberships count towards an account’s limit. Review pricing before setting up several simultaneous groups.
4. Prepare the slate and check week one
Select the weekly games and confirm the required pick count. Free selected slates are capped at 10 NFL games, 20 college football games or 10 Premier League matches; paid plans can use All Games for these sports.
Ask each player to open the league and confirm they can submit picks. Remind the group before the earliest kickoff, not only before the main weekly lock. New players often miss the early game rather than the Sunday deadline.
5. Keep a weekly rhythm
Check the upcoming slate, let the group know picks are open, and give them one clear deadline reminder. After results are graded, share the standings and celebrate the week’s best calls.
If a game is rescheduled or a result is still pending, check the league’s current status before announcing a winner. Consistent rules and a little friendly conversation do more for participation than a complicated scoring system.
Common questions
Should I use equal or confidence scoring?
Use equal scoring for a simple first league. Confidence scoring suits a group that enjoys ranking its picks and understands that a high-weight loss hurts more than a low-weight loss.
Do I need a paid plan?
Not for one active league within the Free limits. A larger group, multiple active memberships or an All Games slate can require Standard or Pro. Current capacity and prices are on the pricing page.
